I just wanted to say a big thank you to all who commented on my last post- especially the being nervous about labor. It's good to know I'm not alone - be it baby number 3 or 7!! ;)
thanks!

This n That
The British are coming
My sister in law gave the boys some Story CD's for Christmas and we have really enjoyed them. Actually, they are free downloads at StoryNory.com - they have a lot to choose from and we've put them on for the boys as they go to sleep (eventually ;). The person reading the story has a British accent which Jaedon likes to hear. So yesterday he was looking at a book with the story Rapunzel in it (one of the StoryNory's that he likes a lot recently).
He said "Mom, did you know that the which was actually an Enchahntress?" (said with a long A- the British way).
I said "Oh really? An Enchantress?" (said in the good ole US of A way)
"NO- an EnCHAHNtress!!!" ;)
Well, no, I guess I didn't know that ;)
"Des"
We were on a walk the other day (as we have been most days lately! yay). Jaedon was riding his bike and Seth and I were waddling behind. Okay, I was waddling, Seth was doing the typical walk of the toddler - you know- picking up every leaf, stick, rock, discarded lollipop stick etc...;)
I was holding Seth's hand and he suddenly started "singing". There is a song on a Go Fish CD that we've been listening to way too much lately ;) and it has a part that they just sing "Nahh nah nahna..ooo..ooo". He starts singing this (which I found adorable) and started to sing with him. He promptly pulled his hand away and said "No, Mommy! DES!" (which is how he says his name). So I wasn't permitted to singalong but I couldn't stop smiling at his little falsetto "oooo...ooos".
Walking again
I've had a frustrating few weeks. I really enjoy this spring weather but my body has just NOT been wanting to do everything I've been wanting to do! We love to go on walks as a family and the boys and I will go on several sometimes in one day - but, again, I was just achy and couldn't walk as far as I would've liked to. So, I began to just accept that that's just how it's going to be for the next few weeks. Last night we were out walking again and Jaedon asked to go on the "big" walk. He was riding his bike and Brad was pulling Seth in the wagon so we decided to give it a try. The "big walk" is probably about 3/4 a mile or so- not huge but nice. I was SO encouraged because not only did I not feel achy and have to waddle at a snails pace but we kept a brisk pace and I felt good the whole time! YAY!!! Not that I want to induce labor early but it was a glimmer of hope!
Speaking of Labor...
This may sound ridiculous but I am ... hmm...not scared but maybe nervous?, not looking forward- to labor. (ok, who actually looks forward to it?) I guess I'm not blissfully ignorant of having babies anymore but I would've thought that by baby 3 you wouldn't feel anxious or nervous about it anymore. Well, not so with me. Actually, I think it's a little bit of the actual labor and a lot of the actual "what am I going to do with 3" feeling. I'm sure all the what do you do with a newborn will come back to me but everytime I think about life in the near (and far) future- I FORGET about the baby! What if I leave him in the van b/c I forget about him or how exactly DO you go grocery shopping with 3 kids AND manage to bring groceries HOME too?
Just some random thoughts I guess!

CSI
Well, actually I guess it would be SCI- sidewalk Chalk investigators?!
anyway- here's a few pics of the recent crimescene outside our house Lots of bodies- strangely most of them were the same size ...hmm...
We're still looking for the culprits but I have 2 suspects in mind ;)

Homemade fun
Since last fall Jaedon has been wanting Brad to make him a bow (they had fun making a quiver with a paperbag and lasagne box with, of course, arrows of straws and feathers.) But we simply couldn't find the PERFECT bow-making stick -
until yesterday!
I'm not sure who really had more fun (as is typically the case ;) But Jaedon was shooting his now-wooden arrows (no worries- there is no points!) all over the yard this morning with his great bow.
I love boys!

THE LIST revisited...
Sooo...with spring break now offically over I went back to "the list" to see how we did...
-Things accomplished:
- clean out the shed BOX and all the toys that have been collecting who knows what all winter
- pull out the picnic table, sand and refinish (if need be). Not sure who is going to help Brad with that one.
- Fix up Jaedon's bike (new training wheels, chain and the all important HORN)
- Assemble Seth's tricycle
- Put in the edging around the tree in the front yard
- Sift thru the nasty sand in the sandbox and refill it
- Clean up the outdoor chairs
- sweep off the grilling patio and get that grill out!!
- Wash windows- Wash blinds- Wash curtains (and iron?! yikes)
- Clean every article of newborn clothing (how many socks do they really need c'mon!!!)
- Organize the nursery with aforementioned clean clothes
- clean ceiling fans
Honorable attempts:
- clean out those vehicles that have accumulated WAAAAy too much junk over the winter months! - we did the van, not so much the car...
-Shampoo carpets - just one room (the nursery). It's really hard to plan a time to clean when we need to be GONE afterwards. hmm..
Not even close:
- Clean out the shed.
- Plant my cuke/ cantalope starters.
It was a good break- we had lots of fun playing and wrestling time too (well, the boys... not so much me these days ;)

Babies and Boys
One of my projects this week was to wash and put away all the gazillion newborn things we have. Washing and folding- not a problem. Finding space for everything- problem!
Meanwhile, the boys have had a LOT of fun seeing all these "NEW" things. "What's a burprag?", "What's THIS for?".... it's been fun to introduce some baby items to them this week. It's been even more fun to have them use some of these great new invention on their "babys". (They are BOYS afterall so we don't have dolls around- but some teddy bears make great improv. babies ;)
Today we pulled out a size 1 diaper (compared to Seth's size 5!), some clothes, swimming pants, hats, bibs burprags and bottles for both boys to dress, rock, feed and burp their babies. It was just too cute. I really hope Jaedon doesn't try to burp the new baby like he does HIS baby- yikes! ;)

A Week like this...
It's really fun to me when Jaedon comes home from Sunday School and teaches us the songs he's been learning. One song he likes to sing is called "A Day Like This". Basically, it's a silly song but says "A day like this," (add motions one by one such as clapping, stomping, honking the nose, chicken dance etc...) "Ohhhh...I need the Lord to help me". Well, I've been especially grateful for this song this week b/c it's been oh too true!!
I'm not sure if Jaedon is going thru some growing pains or maybe he's feeling threatened about a NEW baby "invasion" (we've been trying to be intentional about talking about it with him). It's been a roller coaster week! He would go from being his "normal" relatively sweet, helpful and compliant self to a total 180 - serious mouthiness (and we don't even have good tasting soap!), yelling at and teasing Seth continuously, and very blatant defiance! There seems to be seasons when kids just NEED to test the boundaries just to make sure they are still there - so okay - maybe that's what this past week has been (notice I say 'PAST' week and 'HAS been' - I'm trying to be optimistic! ;)
It's been "a Day like this-oh, I need the Lord to help me" type of week. And I'm so thankful that He does!
