I found a collection of childrens books written by Max Lucado at the library the other day and decided to read one of them to the boys last night. It was rather long so I pre-empted a coop by letting them know we'd read some of it tonight and finish it the next day. The story, in typical Lucado fashion, was very captivating- a princess, "lowlanders" (that resemble Gollum), a King an evil Olbaid- and I found myself saying...ah forget bedtime...let's keep reading!
It's a great allegory which was SO fun to watch Jaedon's face light up as he exclaimed "OHh! I get it!"
I'm not going to tell you a thing about it though- go borrow your own copy! ;-)
